Opti:

Affordable, durable and easy to sail Optimists are the perfect boat for kids up to 15 years of age. It is safe and simple enough to start learning to sail even at very young ages. At the same time it is technical and challenging enough and progress from beginner to top regatta sailor all within the same boat. The Opti is an internationally recognised youth dinghy with large and competitive fleets. World, European and National Championships as well as many national and regional regattas are held in all parts of the world. Currently more than 150,000 kids in over 100 countries are sailing in Optimists.

About 3 years ago we decided to build the Optimist according to the current IOD 95 class rules. It was an immediate success with several regattas being won already in the first year. Soon qualifications to World and European Championships as well as the German, Israeli and Polish Nationals and then last year the European Championships were won in Ziegelmayer Optimists. Our Opti is already on its way to become just as successful as our 420s and 470s which have been dominating the international market for many years now.
